Area Police
Roughly fifty cars have been covered with what appears to be blood from a person in the German municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by police.
Automobiles, walls and postboxes were marked, in some cases with prohibited symbols, they reported in a release.
Law enforcement report they were notified during the night on Wednesday evening, when a resident observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish liquid.
The liquid had been applied in the form of a swastika, they stated.
Law enforcement then discovered numerous other vandalized cars and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under legislation outlawing the public display of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement say early analysis show the substance was probably human blood.
"At present there remains no indication as to its origin; authorities are not yet informed of any harm in relation with the incident," they commented.
City officials said they were working "to solve the case" and have requested to the community for tips.
An important official stated the vandalism left him without words and required to be solved promptly.
"This event affects the center of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the right-wing terrorist attack in 2020," he wrote on online, recalling the death of nine victims by a assailant targeting residents of migrant background in five years prior.
